I fixed one bug and introduced a SQL. That sentence shouldn’t parse, but neither should half the incidents we call “expected behavior” by Thursday afternoon.

There’s a specific optimism that appears right after a green test run. You merge, you breathe, you feel briefly forgiven by the machine. Then a query wakes up feral in production, joins three tables out of spite, and sends your dashboard into interpretive dance.

This is the craft: controlled damage, rapid learning, and an increasingly spiritual relationship with rollback buttons. We don’t ship perfection. We ship progress and leave breadcrumbs for the next version of ourselves to survive the night.
